Upgrading SNS

One-Click SNS Upgrades​

On the SNS manage page, users have the ability to quickly upgrade their SNS canisters. Each SNS contains a set of canisters that manage various functionalities. These canisters include:

  • Archive
  • Governance
  • Index
  • Root
  • Ledger

If any canister is marked as "Outdated", users can perform a one-click upgrade by simply clicking the "Upgrade" button which will create a proposal to upgrade the SNS. This allows you to seamlessly keep all SNS canisters up-to-date, ensuring that they are running the latest versions and taking advantage of any performance improvements or new features.

The SNS upgrade system will automatically recognize which canisters require an upgrade and present the option to upgrade, streamlining the management process for users.

At the time of writing it's not recommended (and disabled on the manage page) to trigger multiple SNS upgrades at the same time.

This detailed view of each canister allows users to track their health, monitor performance, and manage upgrades, all from a centralized location within the Toolkit interface.
