Manual Proposals

The New Proposal screen in Toolkit enables users to submit governance proposals within an SNS core. With a user-friendly interface, it guides you through the process of creating, drafting, and submitting proposals with ease.

Proposal Drafts

  • Save your proposal as a draft to work on it over time.
  • The Drafts dropdown provides easy access to saved proposals, making it simple to manage and organize your submission process.

Proposal Title and URL

  • Title: Enter a clear and concise name for your proposal.
  • URL: Link relevant resources (such as GitHub repositories or external documentation) to provide additional context for your proposal.

Summary Section

  • Write a brief description or overview of your proposal in the Summary section.
  • Switch between Write and Preview modes to draft and review the content in real-time.
  • Use basic text formatting options like bold, italic, bullet points, code blocks, and hyperlinks to organize your summary and improve readability.

Action Selection

  • Choose the specific governance action or proposal type from a dropdown list. Available actions may include:
    • Motion
    • Transfer SNS Treasury Funds
    • Register/Deregister Dapp Canisters
    • Manage SNS Metadata
    • Upgrade SNS Canisters
    • Mint SNS Tokens
    • Manage Ledger Parameters
    • Execute or Remove Generic Nervous System Functions

Action Details

  • Once you select an action, the system will prompt you to fill in the required fields relevant to that action. This ensures all necessary information is provided for the proposal.

Templates

  • If you’re unsure about how to structure your proposal, the Templates button offers predefined formats that can help you. These templates are particularly useful for common proposal types, ensuring consistency and saving time.

Review and Submit

  • After completing your proposal, click Review and Submit to finalize it. This process allows you to review all the details before making the proposal public, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
